Smarter Time Management

Smarter Time Management
Smarter time management is a lifestyle everyone should adopt it to. We should work smart so that we can have more free time for your own life, instead of just working alone. Below are the steps which can bring you toward smarter time management.

1)Daily To Do list
Every night, before you go to bed, write down all things that you plan to do tomorrow. Prioritize them accordingly. Highlight those things that you must complete by tomorrow, regardless what situation or how busy it is. These compulsory items must be put as first priority to be completed first things tomorrow morning.
The next day morning, check your Daily To Do list and work accordingly. Once you have completed any of the items, strike it off. At the end of the day, those items which cannot be completed, copy them into tomorrow Daily To Do list.

2)Notepad
Always keep a small notepad in your pocket, so that you can carry it along wherever you go. This is for jotting down any idea which comes across your mind or any appointments or requests from other people that you may forget later. Regularly, review the content and transfer them into your diary for further tracking or recording.

3)Taming your phone
Murphy's Law of Telephones and Deadlines means that when you have a deadline to meet, the telephone will take off, with a mind of its own. Some pro-active people will program their answering message this way: "Hi, I'm unavailable right now however if you leave a message stating what your call is about, and the best time to phone you back, I'll get in touch later in the day." Another way is to have someone to screen your calls and list down for you to return call at more convenient time later on.

In conclusion, smarter time management is know how to use leverage, reduce duplication of work and with careful planning ahead from been waste of time.

How to Manage Your Waiting Time

How to Manage Your Waiting Time

Every now and then we will encounter situation where we need to wait for other people to arrive. For example, we have to wait for friends to come for a movie or party. This is worse when they are late or did not turn up all. What can you do with the waiting time and how you can overcome it?

1)Plan in advance
Always plan in advance. Send a reminder one or two days in advance, informing them on the appointment time and place. You may want to research on the place if the meeting place is something new to you, so that you can place your journey on the day itself. If you are the person who organizes the meeting, choose a place where most of people are familiar and easy to access by public transport or cars.

2)Bring reading material
Bring along some reading material for reading while waiting for your friends to arrive. It can be the office reports that you need to read or your coursework, etc. You may also want to listen to audio books using your ipod or mp3 player. Basically, fully make use of your idle time.

3)Understand their culture
This is interesting. In certain countries, punctuality is not their culture. In India, being late is a status symbol and reflect your importance or VIP.

In conclusion, time wasted for waiting is very costly and stressful for everyone. Therefore, plan your schedule carefully and work towards it at your very best.
